Creating a stronger visitor economy for Midwest Victoria.

Tourism Midwest Victoria is a peak tourism industry body designed to strengthen and grow Midwest Victoria’s visitor economy.

A first-of-its-kind partnership between local and state government, and the tourism industry, Tourism Midwest Victoria’s focus is to support visitation to the City of Ballarat, and the shires of Pyrenees, Moorabool, Golden Plains (south of Ballarat to Meredith) and Hepburn (Creswick and Clunes).

Tourism Midwest Victoria is Victoria’s first Visitor Economy Partnership (VEP) as the state government moves to transition the existing Regional Tourism Board (RTB) network to VEPs.

An outcome from the Regional Tourism Review, VEPs are a state government initiative from the Visitor Economy Recovery and Reform Plan, which has developed actions to address challenges and opportunities facing the regional tourism industry.

Tourism Midwest Victoria will be the conduit between the five local government areas, state government and tourism industry. It will support its industry partners through business initiatives, creation of visitor economy experiences and tourism products, and marketing and industry development.
